I’m with u Moon! Summit, Nick, Stephanie = FAIL in terms of managing all of this backlash Rob has been receiving as of late. Rob should be basking in the glory of a great GQ cover & story + most especially, record sales for Twilight DVD. Instead, we get FAIL news over the past few weeks about Rob’s odor and these awful pictures.
What have his “people” arranged since then? A little-read interview on Moviefone. That’s it. Practically NADA. If I were his PR machine, I would have Rob (stat!) on all of the talk shows (daytime & late night) … hell, he should be promoting “Little Ashes” which is showing next month. Oh but maybe Summit doesn’t want him to promote that because it’s a gay movie … even if it’s about an icon (Dali). Now they’re going to say it’s because he has to film “New Moon” even if he’s just been prepping for weeks and had the time to do PR junkets!
I am so freaking pissed!
BTW I have a conspiracy theory about this. I have nothing against Zac Efron, believe me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if all this sh*t stuff about Rob is coming out because Zac’s movie 17 Again is premiering in a few weeks. They need to win back Zac’s fanbase, thus all the sh*t about Rob. They just want to make sure that Zac’s film does better than $70m on opening weekend and sell more than 3 million DVDs.
And now what do we get? We have Rob seemingly more paranoid than before, attending parties but with his hood on … and a fan saying that he was pissed when they approached him for a photo. (We’ve never heard reports like this before!) I seriously think the stress is getting to him! I hate it because Rob isn’t as self-assured or confident as Zac (or even Taylor!) … we all know how insecure he can be … and that really makes me sad!
Sorry for the long post — but you hit a nerve (in a good way I mean, just wanted to say that I could relate to your post)

My older girls (15 and 12) were over Zac after HSM2. My 8 year old wants to see ’17 Again’. I think Zac is talented, but he’s gonna need to do something serious to attract the older crowd that Rob has. I hear that is why he dropped Footloose. I think Rob has more staying power (in more ways than one), but yeah, he needs some PR management right now.

Well, two things disturbe me about this picture.
First, It’s a ridiculous picture. It’s awful! Rob or nor Rob in it, it’s a terrible picture, awful clothes, awful make up, awful awful awful!! How do you say in english when you feel embarrased for something someone else does? Here it’s called “verguenza ajena”. Well, however, you call it, I feel that! lol

All’s I’m saying is my pictures from my early teen years (and this would’ve been around the time Rob was born…ahem…) are far worse than him being pimped out by a shady modeling agency. We’ve all been 14. We just haven’t been between the pages of a magazine, immortalized forever in print.

Well – it was 2001 when these pics were taken…I’m sure Rob knew they would surface some day, so hopefully he was prepared! In his biography book (from Hot Topic of course) he says that he modeled only a few things and now everyone always calls him a ‘former model’, which is why he’s afraid to do an album because he’s afraid that any album publicity will say “Edward from Twilight…” and it won’t seem as legitimate. Of course, I’m paraphrasing here, but you get me, right?
The problem I have with these pics is that they ARE so old…so what’s the point? Do we all look like we did at 15? Thank God, NOT! (although I’d be happy to have my 18 year old body back, thank you very much.) Geesh – I’m getting so annoyed with the paps who seem to have it out for Rob lately! And you’re right – this photographer was ridiculous…I can’t believe this actually made it to the magazines! It’s truly awful in every way…except even through the horrible clothes and poses, you can still see a glimmer of “our” Rob in there!
What was his Mom thinking btw? She worked for a modeling agency…was this really “in” in 2001? Am I that old that I don’t remember that?

@Jenna – Oh, don’t you worry girl! Lust is acceptable at ANY age and Rob is legal. That’s all that matters! I recite this whenever I find myself licking my computer screen freshly plastered with the HOTTEST Rob picture. There are several of us LTR girls who were born in the 1960’s! I was 17 when Rob was born!

Well…that’s a relief. I was starting to feel like a sick old lady! My attraction to Rob is however probably different than the “younger” fans…and by younger I mean teenagers… In that I appreciate ALL of his work and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE his music AND I just happen to think he is the most beautiful man. However, I think if I’d heard his music and his interviews alone without seeing his face, i’d still adore him. And, to be fair, he can be kind of dorky sometimes – which I find seriously endearing. So, I get annoyed when I hear the young girls screaming “Edward!” at him because he is NOT EDWARD! He is Rob – or I’ll even accept Robward π
None of the above re: teenagers applies to any LTR/LTT readers of course…I’m talking about the crazy twilight fans out there who make me sorta embarrassed sometimes to admit I’m a fan!
@Jenna – We think alike. I have teenage girls who think Rob is HOT and love him as Edward, but just don’t see the total package. I think it takes a bit of maturity to appreciate all the special things we love about Rob besides his looks. His music, his wit and charm, his ‘WTF’ attitude with Hollywood, taking on roles like ‘Dali’… I have to admit that it was Twilight that first led me to Rob, but after watching him in one of those first MTV Twilight Tuesday interviews, he had me hooked! They only word I could think of to describe him was ADORABLE, which has now been coined ADORKABLE by the lovely ladies here. That’s what is so great about this site, we all love Rob for these reasons, not just because he ‘looks hot as Edward’.

Yeah, those boys and their peens! I can see why Edward did it, he wanted to be able to have Bella in any way he could, but Jasper didn’t feel that way about her until after they did the deed.
