Open Weekend Post: Finding you, finding me
Dear Rob,
Did you know that there was already another me in Houston before I moved here? She’s not only my doppelganger, she’s also my Lost Sideways-World other, my Anne of Green Gables window-bosom friend.
A year ago the other Sideways-World me was stalking studying you. How do I know she wasn’t watching her two children or meeting deadlines? I have official paper to prove it.
I was reading my Harris County Public Library copy of Bel -Ami this week, their one and only copy that I had to wait two months for. When I needed to bookmark my place so that I could cook dinner for my family, lo and behold, a library receipt was already in the exact place. It wasn’t mine (and, yet, it was mine). Last year, almost to the same day and month, the another-me-in-Houston checked out two books: Water for Elephants and Bel-Ami. (It was at that moment, I looked up and thought John Locke or black smoke or Jimmy Kimmel would enter my bedroom. I had just finished reading the former book a month ago thanks for Harris County Public Library system.)
My kindred spirit was in Houston! She was a Rob lover! A library patron! And, based on the place where she left her library receipt, she also found her own kindred spirit with another married, middle-aged motherly character struggling with trying to let you go (heaving to the high heavens to pity me, err, her). Are you following along, Rob? This is critical information to my happiness, and you of all people know how to make me happy.
You see, I’ve been lurking online and licking reading websites devoted to you (especially the LTT discussion board), feeling ironically alone in my infatuation with you. Now, Rob, I’m happy to know that the Sideways-World me exists, not to mention that I’m proud that she’s already read two new books outside of the Twilight blackhole. It’s about time.
As UC has Moon, I now have me. And we live in the same town.
If you find me before I do, I’m sure you’ve already told her that I’m the spitting image of Reese Witherspoon. Give her a kiss for me. If you want to give her more (andyouknowwhatimean), you may; we are one and the same.

Also, I spent some time Googling “Rob Pattinson Doppelganger” (and ‘doppleganger because it seems to be spelled both ways) and came up with these two options over & over again. Who else might be Rob’s Doppelganger?
FYI: Labor Day is this Monday in the US. For you non-Americans that means hot dogs, volleyball, one last swim in the pool & no wearing white starting on Tuesday and going through Memorial Day in May (lame- I will be in ALL white Tuesday to protest) So….. don’t look for a new LTT or LTR- we’ll be back on Tuesday with something spectacular (if I don’t go into a veggie hot dog coma on Monday)!!!!

Thanks to UC, Moon, and LTR (and of course to Rob, who is the source of it all), I’ve met, online at least, my doppelganger. It is eerie how similar we are sometimes.
On the other hand, I’ve met some people who are different from me and that’s fantastic too!
Rob is a unifying force in the world.
So thank you and can’t wait for the Tuesday Spectacular!

Educational moment: Labour day in Europe (everywhere I think?!?) is on the 1st of May. In France it’s a big manifestation day, everybody’s out in the streets.

Labor Day here’s always the first Monday in September… and, for most people, is mostly an end-of-summer party, like Memorial day is the beginnning-of-summer party. I was curious why September, so I checked Wikipedia:

hey draska, posting quick cause already late for dinner with old friends, I owe you mail, like a year’s worth mail. I had several DG growing up (abbreviation made up, but seriously that word is tooo complicated; and funny) still have one, problem is there is no Rob DG in RL. All that Rob luv is not really #normal in my case, so DG didn’t have the same ‘accident’. I have my LTR firends though and that was more than great in tweed past times and will still be, regardless of the ‘lust hole” (ha, dedication to you!); not really into Rob that much, and seriously all those members only clubs he’s going to are not exactely helping.

How cool is that Finding you Finding Me. I am also from Houston and also am a Rob Lover and a library patron (sidenote: I get my books from hcpl aldine branch) I read Water For Elephants as soon I as found out he was doing the movie so there was no long waiting list. I think I waitied too long to read Bel Ami. I feel really normal now knowing i’m not the only one walking around Houston with my Rob Obsession. What a small world.

I’m sure that Rob has no Doppelgänger, his face his too special! I’m always amazed when people say..oh, I saw a guy who looked EXACTLY like the dude from Twilight…..all I can say is …pfttttttttttttt, you have to buy yourself some good glasses!

I swear Rob’s doppleganger works in my uni bookshop.
It is really quite freaky how similar they look.
But he’s not British, not as tall as (I would imagine) Rob is, and is arrogantly aware that he looks like Edward Cullen.
So some of the charm is lost.
Still, I visit said bookshop every week. Shhh.

One of my co-workers showed me one of her friends on Face-book that she thought looked alot like Rob and she was right!!! He looked amazing – a bit of scruff, sex hair and a skateboard and quite similar looking!! So now I have a substitute if I never bump into Rob in RL!
Also this week fun story. I recently went back to Collage (Karolinska Institute of Neurobiology)and during recess a couple of girls sat down in front of me and started talking about Eclipse and Twilight. One of the girls told the other that her sister “Who is in her thirties and NOT a teen is sooooo in love with one of the actors in series” (I can only imagine who…..)the other girl replied that her sister-in-law read all the Twilight books straight throught! So Twilight/Rob fever has finally hit Sweden! (we’re usually a year or two behind the rest of the world)!!

Tomorrow, september 7th is our independence day. Most of brazilian people is free to make a four day holiday, starting last saturday. That means samba, sex and beer, beautiful beaches and barbecue party.
4 people have said my brother looks like Rob. “WHAT?! *plugs ears with hands* I can’t hear you, I can’t hear you! La-la-la-la-la-la!!!!” I DON’T see how my brother looks like Rob in anyway. It’s sicknast to even think it. So I tell them to stop ruining Rob for me. We can’t have that, now can we?
I think I should meet him so that we can get an unbiased opinnion! LOL

I’ve only met one guy who allegedly looked like “Edward Cullen.” I was like, “no, no, NO!” Not tall enough, not British enough and not even that good looking. He could maybe pass as Rob’s cousin, and that’s stretching it!
