The year in Rob 2010 – top moments (that should have been)

2010 was goo!

Dear Rob,

It’s the end of the year and everyone is doing those count down of their favorite movies/music/current events, what have you and who would we be to not join in the fun with some of yours. But rather than count down our fave moments cause well, we talk about them a lot, I think I’m going to count down our favorite moments of yours the way I saw them…

1. Shopping with Tom Sturridge for underpants and whatnot – This was definitely one of our favorite moments of the year we’ve talked about it non stop and who wouldn’t? You were seen buying your drawers with your BFF?

How I saw it... After clearing out the contents of John Varvatos, Paul Smith and Penguin stores, Robert Pattinson and pal Tom Sturridge were seen out for months to follow at bars, shows, and friends places wearing the latest in men’s fashions. No word yet on the origins of the mysterious dumpster fire involving a lot of used men’s clothing (beanies, old leather briefcases, holey shirts and pants, etc) that was set ablaze in the lovely neighborhood of Barnes, London. Officials say they were glad the used clothing was not donated to charity shops because the levels of toxins found at the blaze were extraordinary and estimate that the clothing had not been washed in several years leading to complete annihilation of the rancid clothing and the dumpster.

Coming fall 2011 to Oprah’s new network! It’s the Rob Show!

2. Robert Pattinson on the Jay Leno Show – HOT HOT HOT, there’s really no other words for this suit and the resulting stories about his dad and the amazing emails he receives from Dick Pattinson.

How I saw it… Sensing the huge success of any television appearances he makes and the resulting high levels of estrogen in the studio, Robert Pattinson signs a deal with OWN media and starts his own chat show focused on women ages 18 – to old to remember. Topics will include: how to snag the (younger) man of your dreams, cougars vs sabers who would win his heart and guests Alex Sarsgaard, Iam Somerhalder, Chuck Bass (his real name),  and himself, Robert Pattinson.

I’ve gotta get to those fans!! Outta my way!

3. Rob films Water for Elephants in California and draws legions of fans to set locations every day – Who didn’t love seeing Rob in those period clothes, taming wild beasts and making out with Reese Witherspoon? We sure did. But some folks loved it aaaaaallllooottt and committed part of their summer to being a regular on set… or off set as it were.

How I saw it… Touched by the devotion of his fans Rob stoped his chauffeured car as he left the set of Water for Elephants today to tell them how much he appreciated them. But overcome with emotion, Rob actually proposes to every single fan gathered (5ish people) and suggests they all live on a compound in glorious Big Love-esque harmony. Every day is spent beginning with an hour long session of Rob flexes his hands and fingers for all to watch and drool. Then he picks up a guitar and puts it down, never playing, only teasing. They then all wake up from this glorious dream and seek psychological therapy.

CANNONBALL INTERNETS!!!!

4. Ready to cool off in the Atlantic Ocean while filming Breaking Dawn, Rob takes an awkward jump that will go down in history. – What else is there to say about Jumping Rob besides it’s pure, unintended choice GENIUS!

How I saw it… jealous of the popularity of Prancing Cera, Leo Struts, Sad Don Draper and Ryan Gosling’s “Hey Girl,”  among others, Robert Pattinson had been brainstorming a way to catch the hearts of the interwebs to make him even more famous for awkwardly jumping into the ocean than for being a sparkly vampire. After attempts such as “Air Guitar Rob” in Vancouver, “Underwear Rob” in London and  “Homie Rob” in LA all failed he saw his chance in Brazil. All it took was a hop skip and awkward jump into the ocean and into the interwebs hearts forever.

BOTHERED!!

5. Robert is Bothered… Knowing that ladies love cool Rob and will watch anything with Robert Pattinson in it, Jimmy Fallon launches the hilarious reoccuring bit called “Robert is Bothered” on his late night chat show. Rob eventually joins him for an episode in April of 2010 to let Jimmy know he really isn’t bothered, maybe a bit broken

How I saw it… Clearly, the BIGGEST male fan of Rob (and Twilight) to ever have his own late night chat show and power to make and air hilarious sketches, Jimmy Fallon created Robert is Bothered in an elaborate plot to lure the actor on his show and steal an autograph/hug/lock of hair. After having other cast members on to throw footballs and ride mini crotch rocket motorcycles, Jimmy knew he had to step up his game to lure in the big dog, Robert Pattinson and thus Robert is Bothered was created!

As you can see, how I saw your top moments of 2010 was waaaaayyy more exciting than how they actually played out. We will, however, be eternally grateful to you for bringing us such amazingness like Jumping Rob and Bothered that will last us through 2011. How can you top it this time??

I had the most exhausting day today but thank you for making me laugh again, Moon! I was cracking up while reading that letter 🙂
I still miss the BBJ and I hope it wasn´t in that fire! Rob, baby, if you ever wanna get rid of this one, you know where to send it 😉

It’s been a good Rob year that’s for sure but 2011 will be even more brill…. Seen the photo on Robsessed and now reached a new low in my robsession by being jealous of an elephant … If I had a trunk I’d like to wrap it round him too ha ha

  3. robgirl86 says:

    Best of 2010 for me:
    film: Remember Me
    quote: “I hate vaginas”
    shoot: every shoot
    interview: John Stewart
    trailer: WFE!
    move: Jumping in Brazil
clothes: no clothes aka the grey suit on “The view” ( 🙂 )
    shipping….an elephant!
    fav.Rob-word….DURT!

    How I saw all this?
    It’s simple…the man is/was..always..just ..sooo..
    LOVABLE & DOABLE!

    • maggie says:

You really hit on all the best of Rob2010! It might be arguable that his interview on Jay Leno topped Jon Stewart, but I do watch that Jon Stewart one over and over. The bit with his dad on Leno was so swoonworthy, though. The suit on The View was too die for. And when he says “DURT”, I think I do die for a moment or two.

      Great job.

      Doable….extremely doable…….forever and always…

      • robgirl86 says:

Right, Jay Leno was way “better interview”, Rob was hilarious!!!!
I chose John Stewart for the endless sexy giggles, RM promo time and Rob seemed to enjoy/appreciate it a lot…”I’m the guy from Twilight, I can’t be your dentist…or so.!” 🙂

        • Maggie says:

And I love when Jon Stewart talks about how the crowd would throw Rob on the ground and rip his clothes off. Lol! Oh how right he is!

    • che says:

@RG the grey suit(the View) WİN WİN WİN
but i liked the Maroon suit at Eclipse Premiere too

what about using ‘half bra’ as modesty patch

My Rob obsession is relatively new (circa 11-2010) so I cannot begin to compile a list of favorite Rob moments for 2010. So, I’ll leave that to the pros. But I can say that my personal favorite Rob moment of 2010 is the release of the film still of him and Uma in BA (every time I write BA I think Bare Ass, but I digress). That image sort of delivered him to me in a way Twilight never could. He is all up against the bothered backside of Uma for Chris-sakes. He is man. He wants. He breathes. He gets. That was the moment I succumbed to this hot and dirty thing I have for him. I haven’t really been the same since. So that’s my favorite moment.

    Lol “stripes or solids”
I liked/hated Rob stalking me around LA (Malibu, UCLA, LAX) this past summer. It was frustrating but in 2011 the tables will be turned. Oh, believe me Rob. They will. 😉 See you at the WFE premiere! (Unless I have to camp out for a week.)

    • robsfuturemate says:

Ahh Ros, that was pretty funny! Hope you and the rest of us have better luck next year 🙂
And I’m all for the WFE premiere minus the camping out part!

      • roslynselene says:

Oh please oh pretty please, I hope we don’t camp out. And if we do, can someone take one for the team and save us a spot? 😀 Anyone…?

  6. robsfuturemate says:

While cleaning out my facebook page today (I’m taking a step back INTO the Robcloset this new year), I watched a lot of old Rob interviews. I really loved the email reading on Leno and was disappointed to see it was taken off youtube. 🙁
I also loved that T4 interview with his old mate, and the Oprah behind the scenes.

    Rob,
I’ve loved seeing you have a little more fun on these interviews and would love to see even more in 2011. Also, I would love to see more of YOU!!! Preferably in person!

    Love,
    your mate

  7. Pattygirl says:

Jay Leno, Oprah, Hottakes, eclipse Rob premiere

  8. drsaka says:

Great letter and recap of 2010, Moon!

The quantity of pearls that Rob gave us might nit have been as great as in previous years, but these were all first water (or whatever gem/ quality comparison you’d like).

Other little nuggets: barking at the family’s dog on the Oprah interview; carrying his own TP into
his BA trailer; showing up for John Stamos’ BBQ; purchasing guitars and bicycles; attracting stroller Dad; admitting to liking chicken and biscuits and, of course, Hob Nobs, and many others.

    Other fav moments?

It is difficult to beat the great Marks&Sparks underwear purchase adventure.

  9. melronin says:

To be honest this whole past year was a huge Robmoment for me! There are no bests or worse… everything Rob did is precious to me!
It may sound cheesy but since the day I fell for him I practically live with him…breath with him…he is the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last befor going to sleep!

Yep…it’s that bad guys…But I don’t want it to change!

I love loving this man…cause he so deserves it!

    Rob
Keep doing what you do best baby…be yourself!!!!!!
    <3
    Mel

“he is the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last befor going to sleep!”

I seriously wish I could turn it off sometimes but I can’t because I like it. 🙂 Dammit, I’m fucked. Oh well, moving on to the next year. We’ll see what happens. (I bet I’ll be here next year saying the same thing) 😉

    • robgirl86 says:

I like cheesy, cheesy is goo!

  10. niahid says:

So many fave moment of Rob but I’ve narrowed it down to these:
    1. He went out with Tom in that blue vintage car. He looked so genuinely happy .
    2. Smashing down Emma Roberts on Leno ( nasty Rob came out )
    3. Road trip to Buddy Holy museum ( hellooo drunk Rob)
4.That coitus scene with Emilie De Ravin (well played girl! )
    5. WFE onset pics and trailer
    6. The phone/peen close up pic in green fugly trousers
    (WELL DUH)
    7. Patting Pattinson games on Ellen
    8. TV Guide pics and OTs
    9. Tom piggyback riding Rob
    10. Moantreal kissing pic with lurking Tom ( I laughed wholeheartedly )

  11. Nelle says:

Still love the Jimmy Kimmel Eclipse show- Where Rob calms down Kristen’s nervous fidgety leg by subtly (but we caught it!) placing his leg against hers! So caring and protective. So “Edward.”

    • roslynselene says:

😀 lmao Darn, there goes Rob again, slipping up at trying to prove he’s not really Edward. Oh, Rob. Smh. You’re not fooling anybody esp not the people who read into your every move like it’s a subliminal message. 😉

  12. dazzledtodeath says:

Every Rob moment is a great one, but I think you hit the highlights Moon. I loved the grey suit on the View, the Details photoshoot (esp. this one-http://www.details.com/celebrities-entertainment/cover-stars/201003/robert-pattinson-online-only-exclusive-photos#slide=5 gaah) and of course, Jumping Rob. Also anytime Rob was seen in the company of his better half, Tom.

I’m sure there will be plenty on equally amazing moments on 2011-he’s got two non-Twi films coming out (interviews! appearances!) plus, of course, BD (which I’m renaming Breaking Yawn since I feel like I’ve already seen half of it, it’s my least fave book and I’ll have to endure the mullephant trying to act passionate, not to mention give birth).

Speaking of the mullephant, may it be the year Rob’s name stops being constantly linked to hers and he’s known for being a respected actor instead of one half of a pseudo-couple.

    • LatersBaby says:

“Also anytime Rob was seen in the company of his better half, Tom.”

      *giggles*

    • robsfuturemate says:

“he’s known for being a respected actor instead of one half of a pseudo-couple.”

Hear, hear! I’m thinking that with WFE and BA that might actually happen!

    • natteringyeahrobber says:

LMAO at “I’ll have to endure the mullephant trying to act passionate, not to mention give birth.” I can only hope that John Waters is a surprise director of that movie . I hope they totally camped up the bedding down scene (hell, change the movie name to Bedding Down because that’s the only reason I want to see it at this point). I would love to see those feathers everywhere imaginable. Like, stuck in between Bella’s teeth, glued to the sweaty walls, poking out of Edward’s ears, all tangled up in the phone cord, clogging up the air vent, and basically protruding from every porous surface in the room. And the birth scene…that wretched baby…birth is beautiful and all but I just don’t want to see it on the big screen. Unless they manage to make it funny somehow.

      • dazzledtodeath says:

Oh yes, John Waters should have gotten the job. He could do justice to the sex and birth scenes alright. And yes, there should be feathers everywhere-Bella should hack up a bunch of them, like a hairball. She could make them into feather pasties, in her attempt to seduce Edward. Perhaps fashion a Vegas-style headdress and try her hand at being a showgirl. Very sexy.

        • natteringyeahrobber says:

Exactly, I mean, who wouldn’t want to see Bella hack up feather balls? And why not have a Moulin-Rouge-esque type scene where Bella does some crazy dance with feathers (while Jacob looks through a peephole). Maybe they can even incorporate feathers into the birth scene. Like when Renesmee is born, feathers should pop out too(oops! guess they got really lodged in there!). See, ideas ideas, all these great ideas will be wasted. 🙂

” Speaking of the mullephant, may it be the year Rob’s name stops being constantly linked to hers and he’s known for being a respected actor instead of one half of a pseudo-couple! ”

D2D, you totally spoke my mind 🙂

      If only….

  13. enviro says:

I have to say my fave moment of 2010 was him waiting outside the first house to surprise fans as part of the Oprah show. The fidgeting, “well this is probably going to be REALLY embarrassing,” asking if there is some kind of protocol, and best of all the huge smiles and nervous laughter as he hears the screaming as the girls finally came up the stairs. If I had a Rob avi it would be a still from that moment. One of the things I love most about Rob is what a good sport he is and you can’t be more of a good sport than that! Albeit the “Bothered” skit came close.

    Just a couple more —
    — TV week shoot! Holy fantabulous outtakes. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
    — “You just showed yourself to have absolutely no taste.” Zing! Our boy’s growin’ up.
    — Just rewatched that awesome MTV movie awards commercial last night — my favorite part is how he can barely keep from laughing while and the grin he has when Tom fist bumps him and goes “playa!” Just makes you think about WHAT a player Rob could be if he were like that . . .
    — The bar in Lubbock, esp. your all’s breakdown with him watching “the game” and just imagining that you’re at some random bar and looking up and going, holy crow, is that beardward?

Okay, Am I the only one who wishes someone would get creative and photoshop those shorts off Cannonball Rob? (Blush) I have secretly harboured that pervy thought for a few weeks and finally have the courage to share!

2010 has been a wonderful Rob year! Woot!!! I think my favorite is seeing him in the WFE pictures and trailers. He looks so good, hot, sexy and the movie seems amazing and I really can’t wait to see it. Oh not to mention, Eclipse (which is my fave) came out this year, and I saw the leg hitch and tent scene! lol

I also absolutely adore Jumping Rob, lol. I wonder if he’s aware of this? It’s just so hilarious! I bet he didn’t realize that that one jump will go down in history. Hey, Rob someday when I’m a grandma, I’ll show my grandkids your Jumping rob pic and all the various situations it’s been photoshopped in. LOL

It’s been a pleasure posting here and I wish y’all a very Happy New Year!

    Dear Rob,

Thanks for all the memorable pics, quotes, word vomit, etc. Please keep them coming in 2011.

    Love you always,
    SB

    Fav 2010 Rob Moment: Everything!!!!!
Definitely anything wit tomstu, drunk rob, panda face rob, loved/hated that nasty day when the paps stalked him for hours and he had to like hide out in his car and he refused to drive home, but he was so adorable and sad, i fell for him all over that day. i liked him fighting not to laugh when kristen nearly fell at the awards, LOVED Jumping Rob (LMAO) and i felt so proud when the WFE trailer came out, i cant wait to see our boy act his ass off and prove to the world he’s more than Edward, althought i am deeply infatuated with Edward. Looking forward to BD and Bel ami. Best wishes to rob for 2011.

  19. pukesten says:

Happy new year everyone!! Hope ye all had a great Christmas.
I was thinking of cosying up for the afternoon and watching the eclipse DVD with the commentary but then I looked at robsessed and saw the picture from new years of rob and his twilight co star and I don’t think I could sit through it now. I know robfanfail.
I think my favourite Rob thing in 2010 was the wfe tux. Nuff said.
