In 2011 I resolve to forget about Rob……
Yesterday when I should have been blogging about Rob, I did not. Instead I perused blogs; Wrote on my personal blog (yay me!); Chatted with some pals & then caught up on the CRAZY aspects of the fandom with Moon. And had the best time ever. People are funny. And by that I mean delusional. And by that I mean kinda scary. After much psychological debate with Moon about “what is wrong with people,” I realized I had to blog. But it was past my bedtime. Boo me. All I could think about was the crazy I had just caught up on. And while I want more than ANYTHING to blog about the crazy delusions (especially since I have you on the edge of your seat thinking “WHAT is she talking about and WHICH “Side” does she think is crazy & delusional” (hint: both), I am sorry. I don’t want to be called a c*nt today. Maybe on Friday. Fridays are generally the days of the week when I like to be called different names for the vagina (my favorite is “The Box”- Member- save it for Friday though) So I searched through our email for something appropriate for today. And look at me- I’m going to be controversial anyway. Because apparently if anyone has an opinion that is less than perfect about Rob, LTR gets hate like you wouldn’t believe. Bring it. Dear Rob,
Since it’s now into the second month of 2011, I figured the plethora of people discussing New Years resolutions has died down so it wouldn’t be annoying if I discussed mine now. Remember how a month ago you made a resolution while optimistic, happy and excited? Let’s face it, most of the time, you give up after a few weeks. Well, I haven’t! I guess I should just say it – out loud, say it!
My resolution is to finally admit to myself and get used to the idea that I’m kinda over you, Rob.
I had that feeling for a long time now, it’s like when you are on a diet and you always struggle and at first you still eat a piece of cake here and then, because you haven’t got control over your discipline yet. Time goes by and you learn and you get stronger and you see what else is in life other than that one piece of cake. You see and remember other things that satisfy you besides that cake. And one day you will figure that you gained the willpower to stay away. That you just don’t care as much about the cake than you did once.
Rob, you are the cake.
I look at the cake and think:
‘Yeah, of course you still look delicious and you still are my favourite thing in the whole world and there is no comparison, ever, but I’m kinda over you.’
After a while I probably am going to see that keeping that discipline is hard and tiring, especially when there are special events (Breaking Dawn trailer, -release, WFE release, Bel Ami trailer, -release [hot sex *fingerscrossed*], marriage, golden child, TomStu proposal to me, marriage, the real Golden Child…) when the cake is everywhere around you and is lit’rally shoved into your face- it’s hard to resist then. And I have to say that I will never stay away from you completely and I don’t want to, because eventually I experienced so much, so so much beauty and fun and laughter and sleepless nights because of you which I’ll never regret or would take back.
This should have been YOU without the clothes!
It’s been a wonderful time and I’m not saying that this time is over now (because I don’t have the strengh to stay away from you anymore…. BAM I’m still in the game!!) but my appetite has definitely changed over the past weeks if not months. I don’t really know why, but maybe if some things would have gone differently.
- Maybe if you were naked in the ‘Details’ shoot instead of the models.
- Maybe if Bel Ami already had released a trailer.
- Maybe if you would have filmed a sextape brought sexier underwear than those briefs.
- Maybe if your grey suit would have been even tighter than it already was.
- Maybe if (we would know) you had a d*ck like Ryan Gosling in that Blue Valentine scene. (UC note: Wait…. We SEE IT!? DEAR LORD WHERE HAVE I BEEN!?)
- Maybe if your bathing stuff would have been see-through instead of Kristen’s.
- Maybe if Condon had released a screenshot of your ass instead of Bella’s hand for God’s sake!

Yeah I’m blaming you, Rob. Are you getting old? Are you getting boring when you are in a relationship? Are you stepping on the next level in hiding- from Ninja to Invisible? Are taking Twi too serious and thinking you have to behave because you have a daughter now?
You know what, Rob? Since I’m a little thinner now and all happy with myself again, I can enjoy my cake much more. I know how to dose it now, because I learned how to stay away and then I’m even happier when I come back to it from time to time.
I just wondered if anyone is with me on that diet.

Holy Crap! I use that excuse ALL THE TIME! My friends now accept my Robsession/FanfictionAddiction because they know I’m just using it to ignore things that I probably should be dealing with – but just don’t want to! The first step is always admitting you have a problem. 😉 I don’t really think it’s a problem to get away from RL for awhile, everyone needs to now and again. As long as you DO deal with RL at times! For me, my family and friends are a great support. And LTR and the lovely ladies have become my new family that understand that I. Am. Normal. So enjoy your Robcake!!!

Wrong. The imagination is not something to neglect. A neglected imagination is so very incredibly sad. Don’t you hate it when you ask someone what is on their mind and they same something lame like “I was thinking about macaroni and cheese – should I make it with gruyere this time?” (YES!, but still, THAT does not constitute an imaginative thought). No, prefer to hear a response like “oh, just thinking about Rob sending me messenger-delivered letters for a change, racy letters where he requests that I disrobe in a lobby, ride an elevator up 29 floors wearing only my undies, then meet him as the door opens”. The risk? Will he be there? Will the door open on other floors, exposing me to humiliation? See, much better than gruyere or cheddar.
Also, UC, let’s assume Rob is a drug. That would make you my favorite dealer (along with Moon) and this site would be the most awesome bong delivery system, ever. And it’s just so crazy fun to get high with other people here. Sure, I take the occasional puff from Robsessed, but it doesn’t get me as high. I’m well into my second year of this ‘relationship’ with Rob. And I must admit that that frenzied ‘just fell in love’ phase has dimmed a bit. I no longer spend hours watching youtube videos, don’t watch his movies over and over anymore. And (gasp!) there have even been a few times when I’ve went to bed without listening to him sing “I’ll be your lover too” (my own personal lullaby). I still check Robsessed several times a day, watch an occasional favorite video on youtube, still have hot Robdreams occasionally and put a new pic of him as background on my computer about once a week or so ( I used to change it everyday). Maybe it’s because my life is so much crazier now than it has been in a while. Or maybe Rob and I have moved on to a more ‘settled’ stage in our ‘relationship’. Don’t know.
I have a feeling though that when WFE comes out the ‘frenzy’ will begin again. Hope so. I miss it….

I don’t care much about cake but I’m definitely not giving up Rob. If the time ever comes I figure it will be a natural progression, but consciously saying no to Rob? Never. It is a bit like an addiction, but in a good, (mostly) healthy way.
I do think that some people in this fandom take things a little too seriously (understatement there) though-I adore Rob but can still laugh at him, at Twilight, at whatever. You can still be a Rob fan and not like SWSNBN (really, it’s true!), we’re not at war here, it’s supposed to be fun! Really, calling someone a c*nt over a difference in opinion? When I first found this site I lurked for weeks. I felt like something Must be wrong with me to be single and *cough*over24*cough* and feeling about Rob the way I DO. One of the first things You ALL includung UC taught me was that my age and status didn’t matter and that my feelings were, and I Quote, “Normal”. If that was the truth and I now Know that it is, (and I refuse to let a moment of temporary insanity take that away from me) Forgive me UC but I have to say this about your letter, “That’s NOT Normal!” but we love you anyways for reals. That site you found might be right about a certain very young segment who think Rob is Edward. But for the rest of us, it’s all about Rob, baby. And the dorky/effeminate/frumpy characters he played in his earlier movies only make him MORE appealing, not less, because that’s his superpower. Ugly pictures of him? OMG nat!!! I almost fell off my chair! How unbelievably wonderful! Can’t stop laughing (Summit comment…bwahhaha!). I printed Rob’s note (and tasty picture). Now, what do I do with it? Bring it home? (uh, that would be a no). Put it up in my office? (another no, unless I want to answer questions here about my sanity). Guess I’ll put it in a drawer and pull it out from time to time when I need a fix (see reference to Rob as an uncontrolled substance). You are a riot!
I’ll see if I can influence the FRM (Fairy Robmother??) to stop by your place. I’m sure the kahlua invite will tempt her. I’d love for another nocturnal visit from Rob. And, as you can see in his note, this time he seems ready to step up to the plate and fulfill his duties as the man of my dreams should.

Thanks, ladies, for the birthday wishes. I’m still laughing about my note from Rob. LOL! And RFM – I thought about you the minute I typed FRM. Fairy Robmother will just have to have a different nickname! Maybe if she drinks enough of nat’s kahlua, she’ll answer to anything.
I’ve been Robsessed free for a little over a year now and let me tell you, it is FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. For me it started after New Moon and Remember Me came out and I was less than impressed with both films, even though I shouldn’t be surprised (I still own Remember Me, but that’s just because I have a thing for movies that make me cry like a baby and it was on sale for like $5).
Fact of the matter is, I had to take a long hard look at why it was that I liked Rob and had Google alerts for him (this lasted 1 month when I realized how stalkerish and creepy it was – what if someone had a Google alert for me? Call Chris Hanson! Yikes!). I liked Rob pre-Twilight fame, because here he was; another British dude with fabulous taste in music and f*cking hilarious in interviews. With lines like: “playing my own trumpet” and his vast British vocabulary I was “in love”. But, you know what? That “love” won’t be bringing me roses on Valentine’s Day or sharing a beer with me on half off thirsty Thursdays at my favorite bar.
Also, all the fame from Twilight kinda made him less desirable. Here he was, this dude that NO ONE knew about, most couldn’t even remember him as Cedric Diggory, so I felt like it was “my thing”. I could freely obsess over this guy who had yet to prove if he was a good or bad actor and just watch him in a rainbow sweater on YouTube. But then Twilight came out and I actually had to read the books (cringe!) and EVERYONE knew Rob. I’m very much of an anti-fad kinda gal and like to start my own trends. I was in love with Kings of Leon as well before it cost like $70 to get a ticket because all of sudden people who liked Katy Perry now also liked KoL. It ruined Rob for me and he seemed to be much more reserved in his interviews once he couldn’t escape his hotel room for fear of molestation.
But, LTR your snarky and loveable commentary keep me interested in Rob (damn you!) and remind me of the good old days of summer 2008 when Rob was an unknown and my friends didn’t judge me for lusting after the dude from Twilight. But damn is he sexy, and funny, and smart, and…

Don’t know Maggie. I’ve looked everywhere but I can only find it on blu ray. No I didn’t look on the web anywhere. Just didn’t occur to me cuz I don’t usually buy movies. That whats so weird about my Rob addiction. But I am way outta control Over Rob! I’ve never, no, change that to NEVER EVER been facsinated by any movie star in my life. And sadly, no, I’ve never seen Remember me. YET! I will tho b-4 the month is out.
I don’t know where you live, but, do you have a Target near you? They should have it. Do you know much about the movie? It’s not an easy movie to watch. But you must, I mean MUST see it. And you must own it! Not only is Rob f**k hawt in it, but he gives an incredible performance.
I know how you feel about this whole thing. I don’t understand it myself. I’m not the type to care about movie stars, etc., either and, as I’ve often said, I’m way too old for this. I just know that that boy is something really unique and I’m just addicted to him. And as many of the LTR ladies say, he makes me happy – and that’s all that matters in the long run.
Oh – and no clue about the watermark removal, but let me know if you find out.

Does any one know how to remove a water mark from a professional photo? I have a pic of Rob that I really like but I can’t use or really see it that well because the water mark is right across his eyes and nose.
Thanks for the reply Maggie. I don’t usually go to target often but BB, for Rob I’d go anywhere! Do Anything! even if it is for just a movie with him in it. As for it being hard to watch, that’s ok. I’m a big movie buff any way. My sister owns hundreds upon hundreds and I’ve seen them all, I’ll probably have to watch it twice before I realize anyone else is even in the movie LOL. And thanks for what you said. I’m “too old” for him too (they say lol) but he makes me very happy. Hey it worked for Demi Moore didn’t it? 🙂 the only thing I know about it is that Robs (Tyler’s) Brother has just died and his father doesn’t like tyler very much? Is that right?
That’s part of it, but there’s a whole lot more. Try not to hear or read anything more about it before you see it. People have pretty strong reactions to this movie. I don’t want to say too much now. Just be prepared for a powerful experience. We’ll have to talk after you see it. Rob will knock your socks off though – of that I’m sure.
